The investigation into the horrific murder of 8 people in Atlanta is ongoing, but the media has already made up their mind that it was a hate crime. Six of the eight women killed were Asian. The suspect in the shootings told police that he had a sex addiction and wanted to eliminate the temptation that he believed these "spas" were to him. This article in the Washington Post makes no mention of the suspect's confession to police. Instead, the article runs down a laundry list of liberal hot buttons, from white supremacy to gun control. The police have not ruled out classifying the shooting as a hate crime, but they have also revealed that the suspect had frequented at least two of the establishments. The suspect also received treatment for a sex addiction. The mayor of Atlanta said there is no evidence that the establishments were illegal sex work "spas," but they are located in what is generally considered a red light district. I do not intend to shame the victims in this horrible tragedy, but their deaths are being used to forward a political agenda before all the facts are in. Click the podcast below for my take.
