Remember And Honor Sergeant Michael Chesna, Killed On This Day In 2018.

Weymouth Police Sergeant Michael Chesna was shot and killed with his own gun after responding to a call of an erratic driver on Sunday, July 15, 2018. He tracked down the man who had crashed and was vandalizing a home. The man smashed a rock over Sergeant Chesna's head and took his gun, firing shots into Chesna's head and chest. The suspect also shot and killed an elderly woman who was nearby. He was wounded by other officers who responded and captured him. Sergeant Chesna was a U.S Army veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He had served with the Weymouth Police Department for six years. He is survived by his wife and two children.
