This is a bittersweet year in our Christmas For Children Radiothon. For decades, Christmas For Children has raised funds to buys presents for kids in foster care. WTAG’s Jordan Levy was the catalyst for this annual fundraiser for nearly 30years. Sadly, our friend, colleague, and mentor passed away this fall. Christmas For Children was Jordan’s baby and never would have thrived without his tireless devotion. Jordan was a successful and talented entrepreneur, broadcaster, and public servant, but his family was the most important part of his life. He shared that same love with countless children in DCF foster care. We are honored to announce this vital effort will forever bear the name of its most resolute supporter.

We are grateful that Jordan’s family gave their blessing to renaming the annual fundraiser Jordan Levy’s Christmas for Children. On Thursday, December 7th from 6-9am and 3-6pm, volunteers will answer the phones and take your pledges. The donations are used by Massachusetts Department of Children and Families volunteers to buy presents for children who through no fault of their own cannot be with their families on Christmas day. For decades, many children in foster care have received at least one brand new wrapped gift on Christmas morning. DCF social workers collect a list of gifts the children want and try to match every child with that present. You can make a difference for a child on Christmas morning and honor the memory of a great man. Thank you.
