This is the "before" picture for my weight loss. Stay tuned for "after."

I'm sorry. I know the picture is not a pretty sight, but I'm using it to make a point. I am convinced Covid-19 hit me hard last December because of my weight. I took the picture as a reminder of the promise I made then to get healthy. At the time, I felt like I had been given a second chance by a stranger who donated their plasma after recovering from the virus. Their antibodies flowed into my veins and saved my life. In just 24 hours following that infusion, I went from being on the verge of needing a respirator to attaining an acceptable amount of oxygen saturation in my blood. It does not look like I'm happy in the picture, but you're looking at a man who just cheated death. I promised myself that I would get healthy so that Covid-19 or anything else like it would not take advantage of an overweight Jim. I had my lucky break and don't want to leave anything to chance.
