Springfield, MA Police Officers Michael Schiavina and Alain Beauregard were shot on November 12, 1985 while approaching a vehicle with two men in it. One of the men opened fire as the two approached. Officer Schiavana was shot in the chest and Officer Beauregard was struck in the head. Officer Schiavana died at the scene (11/12/85) and Officer Beauregard succumbed to his injuries three days later.
