Chelsea Police Sergeant Arthur Cashin was 37 years old and had served for nine years when he was shot by a man he pulled over for driving the wrong way on a one way street. The driver attacked Sergeant Cashin, knocking him to the ground. He grabbed Cashin's gun and shot him twice in the back. He was survived by his wife and two young daughters. His nephew, Captain Rick Cashin, was killed in an on-duty automobile accident while serving with the Massachusetts State Police on January 28, 2009.
