Why is the rate of cancer so high among firefighters? It is likely that they are exposed to very toxic fumes while saving lives, but it could also be linked to materials and chemicals in their protective gear. That theory is getting national attention thanks to one local woman. Diane Cotter's husband Paul was a Worcester firefighter until a bout of cancer forced him to retire. Now living in New Hampshire, Diane has been sounding the alarm that her husband's cancer may have been caused by the very equipment designed to protect his life. She started a website and now Men's Health magazine tells the story of her quest for an answer. Diane and Paul explain it all in the podcast below.
