Officer Sean Collier killed on this day in 2013 by Boston Marathon bombers.

At 10:30pm, on Thursday, April 18, 2018, Patrol Officer Sean Collier was shot and killed during a large scale manhunt for suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his brother Tamerlin ambushed Officer Collier as he sat in his patrol car on the campus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. They fired on him, striking Officer Collier several times. The subjects then attempted to steal his service weapon but were thwarted by the control lock on his holster.
