Worcester Teachers Protest PCBs in Schools

Worcester teachers picketing today (2/9/11) at Doherty High School to protest what they claim are high levels of PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls ) at four Worcester Public Schools. PCBs – – are a now-banned substance that was used in caulking in the construction between 1950 and 1970. The four schools are: North High School, Doherty High School, Burncoat High School and the Mill Swan School. The EPA says that PCBs are a probable carcinogen.
