WORCESTER — Police have confirmed that a bomb found affixed to a vehicle outside a Barclay Street home Friday was an active device, adding concerns to officials who have seen an increase in violence in the city in the span of a few days.
The bomb was found around 10 a.m. on a vehicle parked in the driveway at 43 Barclay St. The same address where shots were heard earlier that morning. Police were never called, but ShotSpotter, the city's gunshot detection system, alerted police. They found bullet holes in the front of the house.
