WEBSTER — Twelve residents of Webster Lake are appealing the Conservation Commission's recent decision to accept Webster Ventures' application to put a 75-foot Mississippi-style paddlewheel boat on the lake.
Faith D. Rubin of Lakeview Road said she hand-delivered the appeal to the state Department of Environmental Protection's Boston office Feb. 28.
A DEP spokesman did not return an email Friday asking to confirm receipt of the appeal.
On Feb. 20, the local commission voted 4-1 to accept the proposal by Webster Ventures, which owns Indian Ranch.
The proposal calls for constructing a boat ramp and berth for the large boat, expanding the marina and adding sand to a swimming beach, all subject to meeting 55 special conditions set forth by the commission.
