City Manager Edward Augustus said that Worcester departments are doing what is necessary to "support the president's visit to the city." Although the exact cost of the additional services required for President Barack Obama's visit to Worcester Wednesday is not known, it could be in the $200,000 to $225,000 range, Augustus said.

Of that amount, roughly $100,000 is expected to be spent on increased city police details, according to Worcester Police Department Spokesperson Sgt. Kelly Hazelhurst.
