LEICESTER, Mass. —Three young men were trapped in a car Monday afternoon after a large tree fell onto utility lines in Leicester, the Telegram reported.

The tree fell onto the power lines, filling Route 56 with wires, poles and tree limbs.  The three were trapped in the car until power could be turned off.

The driver of a minivan hit by the falling debris was more seriously injured, police said.

High winds brought trees down in several communities throughout the state.
